a very basic duophonic synth 64 step sequencer

Boredom hit again, so last weekend i knocked up this, a basic duophonic synth 64 step sequencer

Built on the fly no diagrams, just used data sheets for IC pin locations.

                                       It really is mad what one can do when boredom hits.

Duophonic playing two note's/Voices at same time.

one up from Monophonic = playing single note/voice 

and not Polyphonic = playing three or more note's/Voices at same time

STM32F407, programmed within the Arduino IDE,

with 2 Sinple R-2R ladder DAC's, using 8bit shift register,

8x8 led matrix module,

tm1638 7seq display with 8 buttons

128x64 lcd.

    Better than football !

    Doesn't the 407 have 2 built in 12 bit DACs that you might have used - and had a lie in on Sunday.

    Hello there MK, Why yes it does, but where's the fun in that,
    it's about being able to build 8bit DAC's that can generate sound,

    this might not be to your Elite standard,

    but it's about the enjoyment of actually building a couple of 8bit DAC's and not using internal peripheral register in software.

    I did rather suspect that you were doing it the hard way for reasons other than having not noticed the DACs, but others might be misled into thinking that the DIY DACs were a necessity rather than a choice.

    Rather than audio tape you could go for punched paper tape - I can remember SWTP computers being used with them. That way you can have the fun of making the whole thing without relying on a tape recorder. Relaxed

    I think I may still have a few tapes around somewhere - all recorded in the Kansas City Standard protocol.  I'm not sure that I would dare try to put them in a tape player - certainly not the one in my 4-Runner as it could make a big mess...

    If you go for an 8-track cartridge, then you could emulate a 'floopy drive'. Slight smile

    a standard C90 Cassette will do just fine thanks,

    for anyone reading this tit for tat chat, that are not old enough to know,

    this is what us older people had to use back in the 1980's for saving computer programs, data, and games like playing Atic Atac on the specky
