Boredom hit again, so last weekend i knocked up this, a basic duophonic synth 64 step sequencer

Built on the fly no diagrams, just used data sheets for IC pin locations.

                                       It really is mad what one can do when boredom hits.

Duophonic playing two note's/Voices at same time.

one up from Monophonic = playing single note/voice 

and not Polyphonic = playing three or more note's/Voices at same time

STM32F407, programmed within the Arduino IDE,

with 2 Sinple R-2R ladder DAC's, using 8bit shift register,

8x8 led matrix module,

tm1638 7seq display with 8 buttons

128x64 lcd.

    Now expanded to 256 step, simple basic editor so can now load and save pattern and added 8 x 32 dot matrix led, and an updated short.

    Will try AFSK tape store and load next, now i have tx and rx working.

    Maximum number of steps was one of the limitations I found with a number of hardware sequencers I looked at. I think the Synthstrom Audible Deluge was one of the few that offered near unlimited steps and was restricted by installed RAM rather than by the user interface design. In the end I opted for a sequencer that could chain sequences together to give the equivalent of 2048steps which was more within my ball-park, however it is a fiddly user interface to edit in 'old school' blocks of 16 steps arranged in 8 pages and then chained into 16 groups. A scrollable 'piano roll' type user interface perhaps has advantages in some use cases.
