bikash.PNGThere was a story in the marketing world the other week, when a high level Facebook executive predicted that within five years, around 95% of the social network's content will be video based. And I'm inclined to agree.

With that in mind,  oksbwn has really stood out in recent weeks and months thanks to the multiple series of tutorials and projects. Bikash's own YouTube channel and blog are well worth a look too, but all his good stuff is found right here on the element14 Community.

So congratulations to Bikash for earning his place as our new Member of the Month! Let's hear a few words from the man himself.

BIKASH: It's great to hear from you about "Member of  the Month". Really it's my pleasure.

e14: Can you tell us a bit about what first got you interested in engineering, and in electronics?

BIKASH: I was always fascinated by technology from my childhood and always wanted to tear stuff apart and see what's happening inside it, and this grew with me. I don't know about engineering or not but I always loved electronics.

e14: What's your educational background, and current profession? What kind of work do you do?

BIKASH: I have done M.Tech in electronics and communication and I'm currently working as an Embedded System Developer at NTCS, Odisha in India. My work ranges from product design concepts to firmware programming, R&D and PCB designing targeted towards smart grid and automation stuff.

e14: How did you first find the element14 Community, and what made you decide to start participating?

BIKASH: During my graduation when I was working on projects I used to search for components online, and all from Google, and that way I got to element14. Initially I wasn't participating on the community but later on I realised it's a good way to share your ideas and knowledge.

e14: You have a particular aptitude when it comes to video content. Do you have any hints and tips for creating great electronics-based videos and tutorials for the other members?

BIKASH: Actually I have have only recently started creating video content and everyday I'm trying to improve it. Now I don't have anything to share but would love to when I will have a good experience!

e14: Are there any projects you're working on right now, or thinking about starting, that you'd like to tell us about?

BIKASH: Home automation system. This project is right now into its third year and fifth iteration. Actually it's more than a home automation system, like I just want to implement AI based system but right now I am in data aggregation stage and will start on the implementation of AI into my system soon. By this I can really interact with my home in a more human way.

e14: What advice would you give to someone who's new to the maker scene, and to the element14 Community?

BIKASH: Learn from others as well as share your experiences. That's all.
