4 Bit Accumulator - Adder

I have recently constructed a 4 bit adder and accumulator.

The input of the adder is set by switches and the other input comes from the accumulator, the output is fed back into the accumulator.

The contents of the accumulator is displayed on four LED's and the carry out from the adder is displayed on one LED.

The devise uses 144 transistors.

    I have considered using the ALU to increment the program counter but that would use two more clock tick's. I have not looked into relative branches that much, but if they add that much benefit I may consider…

    In your previous blog post, you talked about the program counter [as a counter] and extended that to using a simple adder. If you were to use this ALU (that you're working towards) to instead manipulate the program counter then you'd be able to add relative branches almost for free.
