I am a new be, what are the 4 wires for and what do I hook them to?

Is the ribbon cable the only hook-up I need?

Hi,

You need to use two of the four wires; you can put aside the other two for future projects.
The information on assembly is here: Raspberry Pi 7” Capacitive Touch Display: Assembly and Enclosure
See the section there titled "Assembling the LCD Panel Interface Board and Pi" which describes all the connections.
