Arduino Simulator : UnoArduSim

In this tutorial, we will look at the readily available simulator for Arduino. There are a lot of simulators available in the market. Some need to be purchased and some are freeware, which means you can use it for free. Today we will look at the ArduUnoSim, which is a free simulator for Arduino.

This software can be downloaded from the link below:

Below is the screenshot of the ArduUnoSim

This software is designed based on the Arduino Uno ( as the name of this simulator goes). Overall this software is useful for test code which does not require interfacing with other devices such as the LCD, Dot Matrix and other interactive devices. The software GUI is pretty much straightforward, which is user-friendly and easy to handle. After using for a while, you will be able to figure out how to play around with this software.

Let us walk through the software a little bit more. For easy reference, I have labeled the GUI window in numbers starting from 1 to 24.

Below is the simple explanation of the available buttons

In our next tutorial, we will look into detail on using this software.

That's all for now.

Thank you.

    Hi dubbie,

Yes, this is a simple simulator to test simpler programmes.

I agree with you on the reason to choose Arduino. During my early involvement in microcontroller, i used to play with PIC microcontroller. And at that time, most of the interfacing between other devices are to be done manually. But now with the Arduino, it is totally a different thing. One can purchase a module base sensor and just plug it to Arduino. No more wasting time on troubleshooting on the interfacing circuit.

    Thank you.

    Hi theo44,

I don't think we can add additional components.

    Thank you

However, one of the reasons I like the Arduino so much is that the real hardware is really low cost and pretty much easy to use (apart from the odd passing quirk).
