Fixing Grandchildren's Toys

I was fortunate to see my family yesterday with the grandchildren and I was presented with two toys no longer working. They contain electronics which was no longer functioning. After serious consideration and deep, deep thought I inserted some batteries and that was them, both fixed!. I must be a genius or something. Maybe they had previously tried flat batteries before or just put the batteries in the wrong way around.

Great share D Squared. I have a house full of grandchildren at the moment. My daughter and her husband and two kids are in between homes. They are squatting in the basement while they wait to check off…

Douglas, I tried fixing a washing machine once, when I was much younger, keener and poorer. After several hour of fruitless fault-finding I realised the control panel had an orientation sensor in it so…

Sounds like a cunning way to get someone else to pay for the batteries. Either that or the parents were enjoying the peace that often comes with flat batteries. Just need to 3D print a new pilot and passengers…

It may involve more battery changes however. Could be a slippery slope...

    Dave,

Ummm. I hadn't thought of small robot characters. Could be a possibility.

I did find some money in the trap (so somebody left a tip) and several of those plastic stiffeners found in shirt collars, but no smoking gun.

Are the cats sticking to the same story and no paw prints found at the scene of the crime ? image

Gordon the Express Engine may have been more appropriate, what with being the Flying Scotsman's brother and all... image

However I'm sure there is potential for some sort of small robot type characters here don't you think ? image
