I'm Seeking Paid Bloggers to Support RoadTests, Webinars and Other Areas of Engineering Interest

While most of our community contains user-generated content, there are times when I have the need to generate some specific content that the writer will be compensated financially.

 

Two examples  would be to support roadtests and webinars. For instance, if I am roadtesting a product that has not been discussed that much on the community, I would like to have some articles on the community that can talk about the products or the technology. This also goes for webinars.

 

Beyond that, there are times when I am approached by a supplier and I need him/her to generate specific content. They may not have the time to do it. This would be another instance.

 

Finally, one of my tasks in the community that most of the members are probably not aware of is my monitoring content in our different spaces and suggesting new content, just as a managing editor would do on a magazine.

 

While our current bloggers do a great job, we would like to have more of them.  I am interested in deep technical treatments. Things that would be useful. Not necessarily newsy or gimmicky stuff. However, thought leadership articles by an industry insider who offers insights into an upcoming trend would also interest me. This is what I am interested in:

 

Embedded Engineering, FPGAs, Industrial Automation, Internet of Things Engineering, Motor Control, Microcontrollers, Power Design, Energy Technology, Seminconductors, Circuit Analysis.

 

I am also in need of people who can offer examples, case studies, tips on software/coding, etc.

 

Other things would include:

 

Zigbee, WiFi, Z-Wave, Thread, NFC, 6LoWPAN, Cellular, SigFox, Neul, LoRaWAN, Ingenu, Weightless, MQTT, CoAP, AMQP, XMPP, DDS, CoR

  • This is an interesting initiative to generate participation and useful content at the same time.

    Some of the topics are pretty big - you could write a book. How extensive do you see a typical blog becoming?

    For example in industrial automation a small subset would be control systems. I could write an introductory article on control systems and PID loops, but it would be pretty tough to squeeze a decent treatment into a reasonably sized article.

    You have a good point. Perhaps we could do a 2, 3, 4, nth part blog. That would be up to you.

     

    I would not expect you or anyone to write a book. Of course, there is a balance between what would be covered in a specific blog and the time to produce it. So, if you were going to take on the subject of PID loops. You could introduce them for the newbies and then go into an example of how/why they have been used in control systems.

     

    It sounds like you are interested in this. So, I have a meeting with my boss this week and I'll mention your interest. She deals with the paperwork.
