I recently got my K40 Laser to work and designed a testfile to tune it in for different materials.
The File is compatible with K40 Whisperer by Scorchworks. You have to manually dial in the values while lasering to get the desired output.
There are 3 steps you have to follow while using it:
1.
Raster engrave starting with 20%
increase the Laser power as the Rastering progresses according to the writing on the file
2. Vector engrave starting with 20%
increase the Laser power as the engraving progresses according to the writing on the file
3. Vector cut
increase the Laser power as the cutting progresses according to the writing on the file
Keep in mind that the outer contour will be cut at the end, you might want to dial back the power depending on the material/results you saw while perfomring this test.
for 4mm Playwood I ended up with dialing back to 30%.
You goal is always to get a perpendicular cut with the minimum amount of power. the engraving settings are mostly based on looks and desired depth /color.
Feel Free to use this File as you wish
