So I got more things in the mail today that I will eventually need to utilize.
I received:
Ethernet shield
More LEDs (gonna make a cube eventually when I need a change of pace and have time)
a DHT22 sensor
I am still waiting for a decent amount of things to arrive, but and also significantly behind on learning how to use things.
I am struggling with learning how to utilize 7 segment displays using multiplexing, but I am sure eventually I will figure that out.
I am beginning to look at the final idea I have for my weather center project and am beginning to worry about my power supply. i think I may need to get a larger 5V regulated supply than what the arduino produced when I add in 3 different displays including LED matrix and 3 digit 7 segment and LCD with backlight. I am planning to use an arduino mega for the final project, but still unsure if it will be sufficient.
I am beginning to realize that this is a VERY ambitious project for a beginner, I hope I don't get discouraged.
I am hoping that when I am done with this project that I will be happy with the results and that it will be used for a long time.
The big issue up here is the extremes of temperature.
I would like to find a better temperature sensor to use outside that has a little lower tolerance for cold temperatures. Our normal low temps are pushing the bottom of most of the affordable digital sensors I have looked at and that I can get libraries for the arduino for.
