Leaching

Extractive Metallurgy

The process used in metallurgy, mainly for working oxidized ores. From a time now leaching of copper sulfide minerals it is done through bacterial leaching processes.

In the case of leaching of gold ores (oxides) design of the pads they are according to the morphology of the area, according to details that we will begin to select the type of pad, either reusable pad, for expandable or leaching valley type (in case of Pierina).

Practical Applications

Industrially leaching is used to prepare powders, for this drug (generally a medicinal plant) is sprayed is taken, and mixed with menses (alcohol) placed in a leachate and left macerating the required time.

Also it can be said leaching treatment of mineral concentrates and other materials containing metals, leaching is performed by a wet process with acid soluble minerals dissolved and recovered in a pregnant leach solution. Of practical use in mining by cyanidation of gold and other minerals.

Introduction:

Developing a source for purposes of working with copper plates, which act as cathodes and performing leaching, so it requires high currents in DC, for this case a DC source having a current output maximum of 50 is requested amperes y 20 volts we had many problems to implement a protection circuit and display data on the LCD.

Fisrt Try (MSP430G)

A first attempt with the MSP430 Texas Instruments was performed to control LCD and displayar current measurement and votaje on screen, but we find the problem that it was necessary to calculate an RMS TRUE and microcontroller had no sufiente memory ,so I decided to use Hercules RM42x, with excellent memory and designed for Industrial applications.

True RMS (Vol and Amp):

Somehow the current and voltage, given by the switching transistors was not linear as expected, making for a more accurate measurement is true RMS decided by applying a programming.

Nice detailed post. Is this circuit for a general design or do you have a specific application in mind? DAB

wow, a thousand apologies for the delay, the company I work alone received specifications for the design of the fountain, in no time we had some theoretical material - chemical, the contractor "CERRO VERDE" , it is owns this type of information and the company I work for specializes in the design of industrial electronics, so we have no access to this type of information.

thank you very much for your interest and apologize!

    Hi Martin,

I am very interested in your leaching process.

I have been doing research into the atomic interactions of various materials and I have defined a new atomic model to analyze these types of problems.

Do you have any documents or websites you could recommend where I can get some detailed data on the processes used?

    Thanks

    DAB

it's just like Jan Cumps says, is for the mining industry; where high current flow is used to galvanize metals, but also has other applications but only mining applications.

the circuit is a simple font but the transformer and the  wire were designed to withstand the environments of acid gases and other conditions; Today we finish the box safety

to finish the work, we still require a few more days, thank you very much for your interest and greetings to you all!

It's for the mining industry. They use leaching and (I think that) a high current flow improves the process.

Martin will certainly correct me if I'm wrong image
