Auto Biography

Updated

dixonselvan is currently working as a Software Engineer in India. He did his Bachelors in Engineering in the field of Electronics and Communication. His Childhood was a period where new and powerful technologies were emerging and the updates about them reached him very slowly, given the fact that he had no internet or personal computer at his disposal. This had let him gain most of his knowledge from books and his teachers. His imagination power to build technologies which are practically impossible, like his project on bringing the capability of recording and transmitting smell information through videos, usually came through the cartoons he had watched on television! This project which goes by the name Odor Detector was his first fully completed project in April 2016. This project idea has also won him a GR-Kaede kit in the GR Kaede Design Contest India 2015  sponsored by EFY and Renesas in September 2015. He was literally addicted to video game consoles (primitives of play stations) in his childhood which also laid down the foundation for his interest towards Electronics and making new stuff. When presented with an RC Car or any toy with electronics, he would usually try to grasp the mechanics and electronics of the toy by dismantling and reassembling them back to original, was his favorite pastime.

Unaware of his interest in Electronics, he tried to enter the Medical world. But with the grades he acquired in Biology in high school, the best option he had was to pursue his career in Engineering and that too in the field of Electronics and Communication. Which he later realized was a correct decision.

Change is the only thing that never changes!

Like the above quote, he had to again shift his career track into the Information Technology field. Thanks to Element14, he is back into Electronics as a hobby/ part-time. Soon expecting it to be a full-time career. He has the youtube channel - Dixon Selvan with 15K+ total views and 100+ subscribers. Almost all the videos on his channel are the works he does in Element14!

I think you will find that many of us have been many things in the past. I went from being an electronics technician to being a computer engineer and then finally a systems engineer working electro-optics…

Nice question COMPACT I am surprised because I couldn’t figure out how I used the word “Self Biography” instead of “Auto Biography”. Just checked with Wikipedia, Autos means Self in Greek! That’s a coincidence.

    image

However I edited my blog to change the heading from Self to Auto Biography in order to be familiar and not to create any confusion.

Internet tracking bots? They can track us and try to understand us from our internet activity. But still there are more hidden secrets and capabilities that even we haven’t figured out yet. So I rely on a human hand when it comes to writing biographies.

With so much automation around these days is it more correct to use the term Self Biography as Dixon has than Autobiography which could have been written by an Internet tracking bot?
