I am trying to get a feel for some aspects of the new platform by writing this blog. It probably won't see any views by members since it looks like personal blogs are squirreled away and probably not in the main forum stream. This is partly a test of that. So far I am noticing a lot of old material that is incomplete, missing, not viewable or not easy to find with a search. I expect it will take time to clean it up. I haven't figured out how to edit any old material yet to help with the clean-up. I haven't found a leaderboard for the gamification system, which could decrease its appeal. I have a few projects on the go and I am worried that blogging will be tough if I can't figure out an editing process and I'm also worried that learning the new system will rob time from project work. It still feels like I can't see what is happening on the forum. Like where would you expect to find information on the Holiday Secret Santa program?

  • I always found the old platform hard to navigate. I was expecting that this one would be much simpler, but I found that a lot of the navigation difficulty was in some way migrated to this new platform with the addition of more navigation difficulty. Just to name a concrete example, how can I get a list or tree of all available forum categories? eevblog's forum system for instance is super simple and easy to navigate.

    Forums exist in groups. You can find the groups by navigating the menu at the top and click 'forums' in each section.

    Like Jive, which had places and groups, Verint has groups which holds a variety of content and one of that content type is a forum. Clicking on 'forum' in a group shows you the different forums in that group which relates to the topic of that group.

    For example in the members area:

    The layout of the site will be different to eevblog, because eevblog is only a forum.

    This site has to accommodate forums and other content such as a web page which gives more information about products and activities for a given topic/group.

    Verint doesn't inherently have a 'list tree' view of all groups. We have tried to help this by creating a sitemap which you can find the link to in the footer. Else you can use the search functionality.
