New Tool Day: Kett Power Shear

imageOh well, this orb keeps spinning and throws stuff at you some good, some well maybe not so good. I made a detour to the 25 cents shop to see if they had gotten in some more image  sockets. BTW they are only $5.00 each. that's about 75% off the truck, so what they are a little used.  As I turned to go and pay up I think there were 3 of them, I saw what looked like an electric drill, but there was something familiar with the nose and no chuck. I was a power nibbler, a Kett KD-400 Power Shear, which will cut 18ga steel and 20 ga stainless. When I looked down at the price I was shocked, it was 33 bucks. I did not even check eBay! (later their cheap one was over 50 bucks and it looked roched!

Needless to say, it followed me home! I can put to good work on the sim. I am tired of cutting holes badly with the zip saw! I will put a pic up soon as well as the price tag!!

So here is a nice vid showing the tool off.

You probably wouldn't be cutting through glove on the other hand at the same time though.

Manually powered ones are probably a safer option. If you need any more cutting power than that, then garden loppers are probably a better option.

A number of the pruning secateurs that Shabaz is referring to are powered off a cordless power tool battery pack.

Usually there is an on/off switch close to the battery pack that arms the tool and then you have to activate the trigger a couple of times to place it in operate mode.

Not bad! Better than the few I saw on Amazon.

Maybe they thought, even if the glove is cut, eventually it will detect flesh : ) I went with mechanical scissor-shaped handle ones in the end, since there was just not enough information on the motorized ones that I saw.
