NexGen: Fuel Load Indicator: Pinouts Redux

22 Sep 2020

I have decided to update my Fuel Load Indicator which has only outputs for a human. My goal is to Recycle & Retrofit this indicator so that it can talk over the CANaerospace network. The network responds to node 0 for multicast, and also nodes 668 - 675 (tank_1 - tank_8).

I have not been able to get the display to fire up with the pinouts here. Starting from the beginning I have gotten somethings wrong, ie the pinouts of the display connector.
On most IDE connectors the side with the notch is pin 1 on the right.
Not so this time the side without the notch and on the right. So here are the pinouts that I have found.
I have identified pin 1 by looking at the pins on the bottom of the display under magnification, and I found one of the pads square notifying pin #1.

The table on the right is correct for pin-outs (I hope)  ---> (DB-b has a notch, DB-a does not)

One day God called the Devil, and asked "How are things going in hell?"
The Devil responded, "Great we have flush toilets, elevators, and air conditioning!" God said, "Wow how did you do all that!?"
The Devil said I got my self an engineer.
God said, "You were not supposed to get the engineer; Return him at once."
The Devil said, "NO!"
God said, "I'll sue!"
The Devil said, "And bother of mine where are you going to get a lawyer?!"

Great post! I didn't know you could make colored tables in the blog posts. It's looking very neat with the colors and proper subscripts.
