This is interesting:

And it makes sense because all you need is a browser.
I tried it on my iPad 2, and it's actually not too bad for programming on.
My wife also happened to have an adapter that she bought to use the iPad with her camera, which allows a USB connection from the iPad to a camera. I tried it with the FRDM-KL25z board, and it powers it up nicely! Unfortunately, iOS doesn't set up the drive for use, so you can't actually directly install the program from the iPad. Dang.
But according to the above link, this should work on an Android tablet.
I don't have an Android tablet, but I have a couple of Android phones, so I want to try this with them. I don't have a cable that connects the Android micro-USB to the FRDM mini-USB yet, so I bought one on eBay tonight
So that got me thinking - if all we need is a browser and a way to get a file onto the board, then I wonder if Raspberry Pi and BeagleBone would work? From what I understand, they both run Linux and both have web browsers. Plus they have regular USB ports that can hook up to the board.
Sadly I don't have either a Pi or a BeagleBone to try this - I'd be interested to hear from anyone who has one, and a FRDM board, if this combination works
Cheers,
-Nico
