Christmas in July

Actually, it started mid last week when I got a UPS notification about a pending delivery from Hungary.  I wasn't quite sure what to expect, but it arrived on Friday

Turns out that it was a package from Arduino.  had told me earlier that Arduino would send me an Uno R4 to try out.

Arduino also includes a plastic baseplate which is handy.  Looking forward to trying this out.  Thanks Arduino and Tariq!

Then yesterday I received a package from  .  It was my Top Members appreciation swag and my prize for the Experimenting with Waterproof Connectors Challenge - a Keysight DSOX1204G oscilloscope.

Thanks Keysight and Randall and Sean and Christopher!  Truly an early Christmas in July Smile.  I'll be busy trying out stuff this month.

There is also a sense of serendipity and convergence.  I haven't really ever used the CAN bus, but thought that I would try it with the Uno R4.  I noticed that the DSOX1204 protocol decoder includes CAN and LIN, so that will be useful to observe the bus signaling.  Hopefully, I'll be getting a CAN shield for the Xiao soon and use that as a peripheral to the Uno R4.

Did a quick test of the Uno R4 LED matrix:

Haven't quite figured out scrolling with the LED matrix API yet...

    I almost replied that I hadn’t received the e-bike yet, but when I went to put out the trash cans - I found a large 35kg box leaning up against the garage.

    I had been out back mowing the lawn (with my e-mower) and probably didn’t hear the delivery because I wear ear protection (a habit from when I had a gas mower).

    It was delivered FedEx from California, but I hadn’t received any notifications.

    It requires some “adult” assembly, so It might be a while before I add a picture to the post.  We’re supposed to possibly get to 100 F this week. 

    Maybe I’ll have to add ADAS later or more likely some energy harvesting Relaxed.

    Oh, maybe it's regional-only video. Maybe this alternate one might work. It just happened to be a song called "winter in july".
