Last night we deployed a patch release which contains a some features and fixes we wanted to fast-track onto the site before our next full release (which is due towards the end of the month). Here's what we've deployed;

Extension to our automated anti-spam feature
Extension to the 'Report to Moderator' feature which members can use to report spam
Fix to RoadTest date display

Our next release will include the 3rd set of anti-spam enhancements, one of which adds 'Report to Moderator' to the Activity Stream.

Phew! We've put a lot of effort into the code and I'm glad it appears to be working. The automated filter intercepted (and disabled) 5 accounts over the weekend & we're keeping an eye on how it's working so that we can tweak the settings if we need to.

The spam activity was certainly reduced.

Obviously it can't stop everything, without catching other users.

So onto the next deployment and you'll find they'll stop trying.
