Upgrade Completed

Greetings and Salutations! It's been awhile since we posted anything to the new features blog. We've not had a regular release for quite a long time, but that's because we've been working on another major upgrade to the site.

 

We do these upgrades about every two years to coincide with the new major versions supported by our platform vendor, Jive Software. They are big projects for us, and we know they can sometimes be frustrating for you, our users, so we spent a lot of time on this one to try to make it as smooth and painless as possible.

 

There are a lot of new features and improvements in it and many of you also had a chance to help us test everything in advance during our Beta phase. From some of the comments I've seen posted, a few of you popped onto the site over the last three days as things were in progress and noted some of the changes and issues that we spent the weekend working out.

 

Nicole has posted a great blog about some of the improvements in the new version here.

 

We're also keeping a known issues log here.

 

We'll try to do some more in-depth posts about some of the improvements and new features for you in this blog over the coming days.

 

We know that no matter how much testing we do or how carefully we plan, with a site as complex as ours there are bound to be a few things that we missed. So if you see issues and problems, please don't hesitate to post them here in the Feedback and Support area. My team and I as well as Nicole's team will be carefully monitoring your posts and will do our best to get things fixed as quickly as possible - although we hope that there aren't too many big issues to solve.

 

We hope you find some of the new features useful (the fully responsive mobile version of the site is my personal favorite as I'm pretty much always on), and we hope you'll take a moment to tell us what those are as well.

    Element14 has had the best platform hands down for engineering collaboration and networking for quite a while now with all the advanced features

    added over time, and it is really exciting to see it mature further. I can only begin to imagine the immense amount of work to get to this stage.

    It has felt like a very smooth upgrade : )

    I did use the site earlier today (Sunday) probably while work was still underway, and the mobile version was very cool : )
