Hack-A-Holiday Post wont accept jpegs

Tried posting a Hack-A-Holiday entry. 

Text is OK, but jpegs are intermittently accepted , some wont take either by drag and drop or the insert function. Show up as little icons.

Its kinda wierd as some will eventually go, sometimes get the blue error message about an error occurred, 

The jpeg files are well below 50Mb, one is as small as 70kb and another is 816 kB.
