Is all content posted onto the home page when created?

As per title, and obviously posted into the appropriate tab.  For example, there is a question of the month related to AI choosing components.  It’s created in Members Forum but doesn’t appear in that tab, even going back over 5 days of content.  Is there other content that also doesn’t appear?

on a not wholly-unrelated point: is the “updated date” for content on the home page actually “created date”?  I know it’s been asked and mentioned many times before but is there any chance that the content listing widgets could work on modified date rather than created date so that active content is continually filtered to the top - just like forum software everywhere else on the internet?  I’m convinced I’m missing stuff and my engagement rate has fallen a lot.

    That's a good suggestion...I'll pass it on.  For the content that doesn't appear, I'm not sure...I would think that the AI question would appear, but maybe there's some additional filtering going on (since the question is on the sidebar).  But I'll check on that.

    Weird: on my iMac it does appear on the sidebar, on my iPad it is (was) a question about hydrogen vs electric cars.  However, refreshing the page changed the question to the AI one.  Now, how do I get to (or know about) the question on hydrogen vs electric cars if I didn't know it existed because it isn't in the front page content under Forum? Somewhat rhetorical in terms of "get to" because I now know it is in Member Forum.

    That was me...I just updated the question, because it was still showing the old question. Slight smile

    But definitely...I think it would be helpful if those appeared in the tabbed section.

    We had a problem with the server task that updates those widgets. I've escalated this with the development team that they really need a way to monitor whether or not that's being kept up to date, because it took a really long time for the team to respond to this problem on this occasion, which isn't great.

    Yes, or 'publish date' if it's a blog.

    There are limitations with the widgets that have the content in them to be able to do this, I raised this with the development team when we went live with Verint in 2021.

    The solution we're going to put in place is to have an activity feed at the bottom of the page, it's taken us some time to have a nice looking, sanitised activity feed, and it will be updated with content as and when it's edited, updated, responded to, etc.

    Because we're using Verint, the solution to this is to go through the groups, make sure you've joined them, and turn on notifications for blogs, documents, etc. to be notified of changes on them, this's unfortunately the Verint world we live in as opposed to how Jive worked.

     How can I receive notifications about comments, forum threads, blogs, etc? 

    I've worked with the development team to work on this to some degree, in that if you comment on content or reply to a forum thread in a group, you'll auto join that group, but it has been a fight with Verint to get them to acknowledge the notification problem and see it as an issue. As  has said, we pass on all feedback and we work on it, even if it's not at a pace we'd prefer.

    I appreciate the post, it helps us reinforce to the team that it's still an issue, because it's hard to qualify issues when people silently bounce off the site due to the problems.

    Could you change that column title to make it clear - to created date or publish date, whatever is easiest?

    I try and remember to set notifications when posting content but I often forget.  I’m pretty sure I’ve been auto-joined into many groups multiple times by the system when I make a post - not that it matters really.
