It gives push notifications when you comment on your own post. Can you please create an exception for this?
It's going to fill up my inbox fast if I respond to every comment as get an email: effectively doubling it.
Hi Amethyst ,
This is something that you can change the settings for on your account - but I agree that the defaults should perhaps be less overzealous and I appreciate the feedback on that.
Can you have a look at the guidance here: I'm getting a lot of e-mail notifications from the site, help? and let me know if you're able to resolve this by changing the settings?
Thanks,
Is there an actual REASON to have that
I would guess some people would use it as confirmation that it was posted, and that others may use it as a way to easily 'go back to' something they created, because it'll be in their notifications. Otherwise you're relying on 'activity widgets' or e-mails to find what reply you created and where.
Else it's up to interpretation, there are some decisions made on how the site works that are often under question.
let alone ON by default?
I'm going to talk to the development team about that, at the very least we should prompt people what they want to be notified about, and certainly not overwhelm them with emails.
