You might recall last week that we took a look at some updates to the element14 Community's registration process, which more tightly aligns the info with that of the transactional sites in the Farnell family.
Well, today we're happy to announce that those changes are now live, and we're inviting you to update your profile and fill in any blanks. It's worth remembering that despite the changes, it won't affect your use of the Community if you don't update your profile (being an existing member), but if you do go in an edit things, you have to fill in the new "Job Role" section before it'll let you save your profile.
Good? Okay. Off we go.
Power Profile Badge
You know we don't expect y'all to do this stuff for free! In celebration of the new and improved registration form and profile overview, we're launching the Power Profile badge.
It's an easy win, and bags you 100 quick and delicious points while pinning the rather suave-looking fellow over there to the right onto your virtual lapel. Grab it now, by doing the following, in no particular order:
- Edit your profile, renew any existing info as required, and make sure to fill in each field.
- Update your avatar. You can choose from the list of existing avatars, or upload a new image and use that. To get the badge, you need to at least change your avatar.
- Post a brand new status update. These are a bit underused, actually, and are a great way to demonstrate your essential pop culture knowledge. You can now add links and images to status updates, don't forget.
