I agree with Michael. I have been a member for almost 2 years and I have made new friends, learned a lot about electronics and programming and had an opportunity to help other people interested in learning…

Iam completely  new here,, and  have no idea about the  'whats about',  but i do work on a  'heart' project  - my  'GiraSol' Project, which i wanted to share  with  you :
its a 'device, consisting of a  reflective parabolic  dish, that collects  sunrays, energy  to a  focus  where a  converter' ( copperpipes in where  a fluid  gets  heated  up and  is  lead to a  isolated boiler, where the  heart is  given into it, to the usable water - for  a hot shower  or to use to wash up the  dishes  in the kitchen - it even could  be used  to heat up a  floor in the  house...
the  sunfollower electronics  is  made  from an Arduino Nano, from 2  big motordriver ic's IBT ( hbridges ), to drive the rotation motor ( east-west )  and the  elevation mot. ( zenith-horizont )   the  sensors  are  made  of 2 pairs  of photodiodes, and  a center PD, all in all, 5.

the  thermor  has got his own Arduino Uno - 3  NTC - OpAmp follower, and  a compartator, to detect overtemperature, an 0.9' Oled Display to show the current temperatures -
the temperature - coming fron the  Parabolic  Dish, to load the thermor,
the  water'temperature  'absolute, in the thermor, and -
the  temperature at the out'let  - back to the focus,  to get reheated there again...

I have  a load of photos already posted on facebook on its  'project page - here : the link to it:
    https://www.facebook.com/Project-GiraSol-1605063979506661/
shall i do upload them photos / clips  here too??  and if yes - where to ?  - I definitively  need  help not to get lost here ...

Greetings  from sunny Bédar, Andalucia, South Spain..

    Oliver

    Hi Joe,

Thanks for the nice introduction. It sounds like we will all be able to learn something from each other. I look forward to your future posts about your new shop and your adventure learning electronics. This is a great forum where you can ask questions and answer questions without any judgments. Well maybe just a few respectful judgments.

    Hey Folks,

Day one of my membership - well day two really, but day one was such a whirlwind of gala balls and speeches, shaking hands and kissing babies, that I can’t really count that!  Thanks for having me - I promise I will try ro reign in my pithy observations and just be a regular Joe.

My name is Joe (see how I did that there?).  I live in the east SF Bay, however I am a Boston native.  I am an operations engineer for a small startup that does on line environment automation.  We create VMs ondemand, on the fly.   Lots of shell scripts and java code.

My interests are primarily in learning electronic design.  I am a noob when it comes to electronics, and I am basically a blank slate.  I am lucky enough to have an incredible wife who lets me dig into the bank account more than I should.  I have been setting up a home lab, and having a ball.

I am a musician.  I love all things Midi, and have a good collection of guitar synths and processors.  One very intruiging piece of gear I own, which has really taken the pro guitar world by storm, is something called a Fractal Axe FX II.  It is a ‘modeler’, holding virtual copies of close to 150 of the most respected guitar amplifiers.  It combines that with speaker emulation in a very unique way.  It is an amazing piece of gear.  I would like to explore the idea of guitar modelers, guitar synths, and musical innovation,  but I am up for just about anything.  The mini-pinball project currently being discussed would be a phenomenal kit to buy.  Sign me up!

Thanks for having me.  I am very psyched to keep on deep diving a lot of electronic concepts.  If there are music members out here with online content, I would love to find you!

    Joe

    Greetings to everyone!

I’m overwhelme with hope that I may have FINALLY found a group where I actually qualify for membership instead of again being given a visitor badge.  Life can be quite lonely while one believes they will never find a group where they ‘fit in‘ enough to be offered a seat at the table.  As for those,  I’ve decided that occasionally I do need to go uninvited.  Somehow I know that’s not the case here.

Great to be able to see in a matter of minutes there are like-minded folks.  That lonly life I spoke of earlier has left a bad taste in my mouth    - perhaps that’s why I’m hardly ever on social media (or out in ‘normal‘ public, for that matter).  Hope and love have encouraged me to start to open the lines of communication again, so I am already grateful for the benefits of membership in such a short time.  It’s probably going to be a trickle at first, so be gentle please!       I really am working on that.

I’m Adrienne, but I actually know that I also have an older, ancient name.  My husband Jim & I live in S. FL with our two K9 daughters Blue and Skye.  Complicated life, as I am sure others here can relate.  Not complaining, as having to hack every system since birth has only resulted in strengthened my resolve. We own a fairly successful business helping others and live a comfortable life.  Some days I cherish looking out over our canal and other days I wish for a second that I was at the bottom of the pool.        Y’all know how that goes.

TY to everyone who took the time (and a risk) to articulately introduced themselves and also those who welcomed them.  Really looking forward to to see where all this can go.  Can hardly wait!
