Announcing our Raspberry Pi 4 Giveaway Winners!

Hello Community!

Thank you again to everyone who participated by leaving comments over on our previous postWin a Raspberry Pi 4 in Celebration of Our 10th Birthday! And thank you for your patience as we worked on the many programs that have been ongoing, including the PiCasso Design Challenge, various Project14 competitions, as well as the absolutely massive Azure Sphere giveaway and competitions (that are still ongoing so make sure you secure your Azure Sphere Kit if you're able to!) It's been an absolutely wild year for us over in the Chicago and Leeds offices and expect more of that to continue so please look forward to more competitions, giveaways and what we hope will be more informative, engaging conversations for you all to participate in.

After looking through everyone's comments, here is our full list of winners! image  Congratulations to the winners! I'll be sending out an email to all of you shortly so please make sure you check your email address and reply all back to us to collect your fabulous prize. We hope this Raspberry Pi 4 will inspire you to try something new and exciting to share with the rest of us.

Awesome - thank you! A Raspberry Pi 4 will definitely be put to good use in the near future, although Azure Sphere is certainly keeping me busy right now. It's a good time to be a geek.

Thank you very much! Happy for this. I was worried about how to try to connect (at least) a couple of Pi 4 together to test cloud building, also part of the Pi 4 road test. I tried to order one from Farnell…

Awesome news for all the winners, I'll have to spend some of my monthly Nerf budget to get one to carry out upgrades.

Mine arrived today too. Thanks E14. I won't post a photo because it looks exactly the same as everyone else's.

By the way, is there any way to tell from the board how much RAM it has? Obviously it's written on the box, but I can't see it on the Pi itself.

That's great news and a nice display.  You don't have to use the HDMI next to the power you can you use the second one even if you only have a single display.

Received today afternoon by UPS from Chicago the Pi4. I suppose it is not the giveaway but the one sent by Randy via Daniel Zima. I think the other will come from Leed, UK. As I have the luck of two devices, I ordered (no idea when it will be shipped, I hope before the end of August) a 4Gb version from Farnell. So the amount of the unit for sure are three, maybe four with another shipment starting today from Leeds too.

What I will do with all these machines?

I guess someone thinks and thinks and solve the puzzle.

    Enrico

Interested to know if your charger works as there's a small error in the USB-C layout that means some chargers don't work.

Hooray! It works with the Apple charger! image

That's the Apple USB-C charger on the right.

I quite like this little TV for RPi usage. It has a full 1080p HD display. I had to adjust settings for it to use the full resolution, looks great.

The HDMI adapter is a bit tight against the power plug, so I'll see if I can pick up a cable-style adapter at some point, but it works fine.

    edit:

ps, it does a full restart in less than 20 seconds.

I'm using a Gigastone 32GB 90MB/s SD card, which was very affordable - 5 pack for about $30 CAD, with 5 year warranty even.

    Cheers,

    -Nico

It looks like it just a C-type connector instead of micro B type.

Whilst waiting for my delivery (Friday apparently) I decided to purchase a very reasonably priced official Pi4 power supply.

The micro HDMI adapter for my Beaglebone Black should do the trick - for a single monitor at least.
