  • I was tempted by the Raspberry Pi but I got won over by the Beagleboard Black, well more so due to the two PRU (programmable real time units) or 200MHz MCUs which share the same memory as the Linux kernel. This meant I could use Debian and all its goodies, and still use the PRUs for interrupts (circumventing the non-prempetive Linux kernel) which gives me a true embedded fit-for-anything board which one can program at both, high and low level, concurrently.
