C'mon, how could you possibly have missed out Hackers from the line up? Too obvious? Though not all live up to the hype

My favourite story about the movie Hackers was that MGM setup a website for the movie, which was then itself hacked Here it is the hacked site on archive.org This is going to be a lame, cheesy, promotional…

While I get that Hackers was not anything close to a "great" movie, I thought it and Lawnmower Man brought a lot of interest to the scene and enjoyed it!

Also of interest is that it's one of the first examples of streaming a game over a network (of sorts); Lightman's playing a game that's on the WOPR server, over the phone line. Took a while, but that idea caught on in the end image

Hacking one individual's mind (Inception) v. hacking a despotic global hive mind (Matrix).  I choose Matrix.

Except that in War Games, (if I recall correctly) the WOPR calls him back after he has turned off his computer!

Hackers felt like it was a bit too on the nose, so I left it out. That's the official excuse.

But just between us, it's such a bad movie I just couldn't bring myself to give it a slot image  I did anticipate it find it's way in via "Other", and felt like that'd do, while keeping my film buff conscience relatively clear.

Besides which, everyone knows that War Games is the correct opinion. Just ask James Halliday.
