I've used them in switching supplies and other similar applications where you need very low ESR and high capacitance. Much nicer than Tantalum (and don't burst into flames) but generally lower ESR and…

I don't know enough to use them in demanding applications. I presume I could use them in generic non critical applications which is also where I use MLC caps.

Like Douglas, I'd like to know of any design rules that can catch you out in critical situations, particularly in switching supplies and filters.
