Well.. I found the problem W/ RGB LED

I was working on a project for my UNO that would randomly fade in and out the RGB and make different colors.. After troubleshooting.. I find that the green portion of the RGB LED is not working..

I tested it with a pretty well used 3.3 v watch battery. The red and blue work fine..

Since they closed the local Radio Shack.. I will have to order some I guess..

mikejn1 I'm in UK and find eBay is a fantastic source of components at very reasonable prices - I got all my LEDs, including RGB ones from suppliers on eBay.

It could also be that you dont have enough volts for the green LED, there is some variance between models from 2V up to in excess of 3.2V so as your using a 3V3 watch battery it may well be the issue

It is, but I feel I should also mention, sometimes you get what you pay for. Some of the things can be of questionable quality. So when you need something critical or important, its best to source the part(s) from a more reputable or established supplier. With eBay dealers, sometimes its best to buy a few low cost items to get a feel for the vendor's quality and reliability before committing yourself to any big buys.

I recently found I needed to source 2 values of 1/4 W resistor. I found one Vendor selling 15 of each value for GBP 0.99 for each value, with free shipping. However, If I ordered 3 values, he upgraded my order to 50 of each value for the same price!! bulk buying - yes, but at silly prices!!!

    Eric,

I have been looking around on eBay and yes there is quite a selection of components. I hope to be able to buy some soon.

I get quite a bit from eBay too. The only drawback is sometimes you have to buy in bulk, but still... great pricing on the bulk items.
