Hello, I,m a first year electronic engineer from Jamaica. I am currently trying to make a 5v dc supply.

Going through my components I realised that I have 3 1n4004 diodes and 1 1n4007 diode. So I was wondering can a rectifier bridge be made from these diodes ?

Hi Maliek, The 1N4004 can handle up to 400 Volts and the 1N4007 can handle up to 1000 Volts. The transformer you will be using is certainly to be in the range of 16 volts or less (22 Volts Peak) to drive…

You should be able to use that 1N4007 together with the 4004s without any issues at all.

Look at the spec sheets for the diodes and the output should be kept to the lowest of the two devices. The diodes are capable of being a bridge rectifier just mixing an matching can cause issue as you…
