Emergency!

Hello everyone, I'v been given a school project:

calculate the gravity of earth using two sensors to estimate the time needed for a free falling object to go from sensor1 to sensor 2.

Now, I'm gonna use 2 photoresistors and 2 lasers ,can anyone suggest how to measure that time?

Can that value be displayed on a pin when I debbug it?

I need to make that project fast so any advice is appreciated!

    Hi,

I am new here so sorry if I talk slightly off the topic. I work with PIC never with Arduino but if I was given assigment like this I would do it using system timer. Depending on what degree of accuracy is expected set the prescaler to proper value and if object crosses first set of, lets call it barrier, it will reset timer to 0 (zero), then if object cross second set copy the value of timer to variable. After this you have to multiply value from variable times impulse timing. This will give you total object falling time across distance between two barriers. Hope that makes any sense image.
