@ang. This isn't really a task for an Arduino. It does not have nearly enough memory to store a whole image and manipulate it like that. I would not be surprised to find some PC application that would…

The html file MarkB was referring to with http:// comes with the installation of the Arduino IDE.

IDE Menu ::  Help :: Troubleshooting

    It links to  C:/ .. /Arduino/arduino-0023/arduino-0023/reference/Guide_Troubleshooting.html

That is where you find the "bullets" which is a FAQ list of common problems.

This archived discussion over on the Arduino Forum confirms the suggestions that have been made to you about the problem.

Did the UNO board work previously?  Is the UNO an Revision 1, R2 or R3?

    Okay

so the picture was there when I posted it ....sorry

    image

    it states http://arduino.cc/en/Guide/troubleshooting

unfortunately the link on the site has changed and is now

    http://arduino.cc/en/Guide/troubleshooting#toc1

However if you select the HELP from the menu and move down to Troubleshooting it gives the same info as the website link.

There are quite a few things that can stop it from being able to upload, and you need to work your way through these.

    No worries, Mate.

I am now able to reproduce his error exactly.

    image

It is done by not having the UNO plugged in at all.

Thanks for the research on where that link went when updated, Mark.

I hope you are making some good progress with the Maori translation of the Intro. to Arduino book.  image

    Andy

If you shift the label further up, it will compile (after removing the semicolon)

I suspect it could that there are no instructions under it, hence the compiler is not happy.

You can prove it by adding

    label:

    return;

    and it compiles happily.

The true C people are now looking down upon you with anger as they don't like using this...or so I read.

There may be some more eligant methods, but its way past time to retire for the night, so it will have to wait. ...sorry.
