Measure power generated by a solar panel using arduino

vish
vish over 9 years ago

Hi,

I want to do a project where I have to measure the power generated by a solar panel using an arduino. My solar panel is of rating 6V 100mA, but I want to have a real time view of how much power is generated.

What is the best way to go about this?

With Thanks,

Vishnu Raj

You need to log the Voltage across the Panel and also the current being drawn. P=V x I Google 'Labview solar panel' and you will get a truck load of stuff for measuring and monitoring solar panel. In general…

Here is a good example with explanations of terminology.Take a look at ARDUINO ENERGY METER . Cheers, Clem

To measure or increase solar energy production, you need to increase the amount of solar energy hitting the solar panels. The maximum amount of solar energy hits the solar panels if the angle of incidence…

Google 'Labview solar panel' and you will get a truck load of stuff for measuring and monitoring solar panel. In general you will need a basic opamp and ADC circuit for the Voltage and a current sense amplifier and ADC for the current.

Lemme know if you need the details.
