I want to us 7 buttons with my arduino uno which will send out different values. For example if i press one button i will get the value of 10, if i press a different button i will get 20, if i press another i will get 30 etc. I haven't found a way to separate the results sent to the serial port.

    Thanks for the help Nate,

    my code looks like this, it sends out 440 or 392 but its not coming from the result of different button presses

    const int bt = 2;

    const int bt1 = 4;

    int btState = 1;

    int lastState = 1;

    void setup()

    {

      Serial.begin(9600);

    }

    void loop()

    {

      btState = digitalRead(bt);

      if (btState != lastState)

      {

        if (btState == HIGH)

        {

        }

        else

        {

          Serial.println(440);

        }

        delay(30);

        lastState = btState;

      }

      btState = digitalRead(bt1);

      if (btState != lastState)

      {

        if (btState == HIGH)

        {

        }

        else

        {

          Serial.println(392);

        }

        delay(30);

        lastState = btState;

      }

    }

    Hi,

    It seems it is missing the pin configuration in the setup.

    void setup()

    {

      pinMode(bt,INPUT);

      pinMode(bt1,INPUT);

      Serial.begin(9600);

    }

    Hope that helps,

    Miguel
