Which shield for my project ?

Hi Element14 community !

I'm novice in the arduino, so I wanted to start a project with an UNO.

I would like to control some servos (12 exactly) with a ps3 controller, but I need your help because I don't know how to start...

I just have found some shields:

_An USB host shield but I don't know if I could plug 12 analog servos.

The Adafruit one would work fine, it is designed for the Arduino. It sounds a bit like your trying to run before you can walk if you get the saying... I would suggest you try to simply get some code working for the servos first, if you go with the adafruit board, they already have libraries etc on the product page for you to use, along with sample code. Understand this first then move on next get to grips with using a PS3 controller with an arduino (NO SERVOS in this one), there are plenty of examples on the Arduino site and many other places, so again you're not having to re-invent anything, just figure out how it works. When you understand how each is working then try to combine them together, if or when you get stuck, post your code here and we will help you out to move forward. We see this all the time and I apologize if I am grouping you with others but many newcomers want to get to the end game before they have learned the basics, if the members here simply provide the answer without you having tried first, were not helping you, were just doing it for you. We can't teach you to program (Well we could but that would take a while and not what this site if for), we do expect the member to have at least googled the problem and try a few things before posting the question, in your case, most of the answers are already available. please have a look, try them out and try to merge them. I don't know your skill with programming so based on the question I am assuming a beginner. I look forward to what you come up with and helping you move it forward.
