16x2 LCD i2c sketch

Hello all,

I have started on my automatic Chicken coop door project. Woo Hoo!

I had no issues with loading the Arduino files, I had no issues setting up my RTC and I set the time.

This is a big step for this newbie. LOL I got a 16x2 LCD with a I2c piggyback. I am having a real arduous

time trying to find the port code so I can upload my info.

Question 1:

Is there a way to clear all the uploads you have made to the Uno? I think I made allot of unnecessary uploads.

2.) I have the PCF8574T chip on my UXCELL 5v display. I have power and the first row is just solid white squares.

I have adjusted the contrast but I see no letters. I have uploaded the i2C scanner but all it displays is Searching.......

     on the read out.

3.) Does anybody have a clue what I need to do because I am lost. With a 5v source I wouldn't think I need any resistors.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

FYI, If you want to run your Uno on 12v solar power, just connect it to the, "Vin" port. That converts your 12 v to 5v.

FYI. A L298N motor controller CAN run 2 separate drill motors.

Thank for all your help so far.
