I've heard good things about Adafruit's Ultimate GPS breakout board: http://adafruit.com/products/746
They have nice tutorial for it, too: http://learn.adafruit.com/adafruit-ultimate-gps
tjank you for answering.
nice choise but 39.95$+7.16$ shipping. Good money. im searching something cheap. because i will buy it to learn gps programming than i will buy quality one.

10.49$ so what about that?? can i find right gps shield for that?
is that shield suitable for Arduino?? 26.40$ + free shipping

I don't think either would be compatible with a shield per se, but that last one says it does have TTL serial so I'm thinking you could probably communicate with the Arduino that way. Hopefully some others in this group can chime in with GPS recommendations from projects they've worked on.
I have used the Sparkfun Venus module with an Arduino.
Write-up and code here: http://www.doctormonk.com/2012/05/sparkfun-venus-gps-and-arduino.html
thank you but venus gps module is (49.95 $ + shipping) nice price
what do you think about http://dx.com/cn-06-gps-receiver-super-u-blox-gps-module-w-active-ceramic-antenna-mwc-149340?item=1
is it compatible with arduino?
It says its TTL UART - same as Venus - so, yes should be fine and my example code should work. It doesn't specify baud rate, so you may have to experiment.
At that price, its worth a go anyway!

datasheet of "U-blox NEO-6M GPS module". at last i can find the datasheet
after looking at datasheet, can you say it is compatible with your "example code" and Arduino Uno R3 ??
What supply voltage does it use?
What is the voltage level of the serial connection?
Ideally, you want both to be 5V.
Power supply voltage (VCC) Min:2.7V Typ:3.0V Max:3.6V
Supply voltage USB (VDDUSB) Min:3.0V Typ:3.3V Max:3.6V
can i conntect arduino's 3.7 V pin ?
