datasheet of "U-blox NEO-6M GPS module". at last i can find the datasheet 
after looking at datasheet, can you say it is compatible with your "example code" and Arduino Uno R3 ??
Ah, okay, well the Uno can supply 50mA at 3.3V, how many mA does the module need?
If you connect the Tx of the module to the Rx of the Uno and DO NOTwire the Tx of the Uno to the Rx of the module, then the 5V Arduino will be able to read the 3.3v serial signal from the gps module. It will mean you have to take the default settings of the GPS module as far as baud rate etc goes. Its probably 9600 8N1 so you should be okay.
If you do decide you need to send data from the Uno to the GPS, you will have to use a level converter. Buts lets cross that bridge if we come to it
