My Eyes - LCD Display

I always depend on the LCD Display when checking for the status/variables when the firmware is running and usually port2 is dedicated for this purpose. I wonder how will it interface in this new kit if i already have a Shield connected to it. I heard this kit has a debugger but will it be able to see/test for example the position of my finger in the slider or the on/off of the switch?

Hmm perhaps a good question for our arduino group, I will move it over there and see if anyone can give some insight.

Just be to be clear, what shield/upgrade kit is this?

Some of the shield clashes, can be overcome by changing the pins used.
They may include a jumper to overcome it, or physical re-wiring might be necessary.
The pin used are often in the intialisation, or sometime in the .h file that is in the library.
LiquidCrystal lcd(8, 9, 4, 5, 6, 7); //These are the pins used on this shield (RS, EN, 4x Data pins)

Be warned that only certain pins have certain functions, so random pin selection may not work.
