HI there guys,

My project is to connect one transmitting xbee to arduino

I also have a  receiving xbee (both series 1) I want that the receiving Xbee will show up a "hello world" that got sent from the transmitter XBee and display it on an LCD 16X2 screen

I'm quite baffled how am I supposed to do that? code wise, wiring wise...I've searched the web and couldn't find an answer maybe you could help me out plz?

thanks from advance chen (or grace its the same in Hebrew image )

Chen I might be wrong but you could try this. I suspect your lcd.print(Serial.read()); is treating what it reads as an integer, rather than a character, so when you print its simply a number rather than…

    you'll need the following

http://www.digi.com/support/kbase/kbasperesultdetl?id=2125 to update and program your xbees

    https://code.google.com/p/xbee-arduino/ the xbee arduino library

    http://arduino.cc/en/Reference/LiquidCrystal?from=Tutorial.LCDLibrary the LCD library tutorial

    http://www.ladyada.net/make/xbee/arduino.html xbee tutorial

with the info and librarys from those sites you shouldn't have a problem. but if you run into more trouble i'll be more then willing to help.

Thanks for the quick response I can see you put your heart into it with all the links I want to try and explain my situation

well I did configured the Xbee's in the X-CTU all that is fine i also have the LCD libraray and I've read the tutorial in the ladyada website

but that's not the problem...I have a functioning network of the xbee's (I made a program that sends a "Hello World" from the transmitter to the receiver and watch it on the hyper terminal)

now i want instead of watch the receiving msg on the hyper terminal to watch it on a LCD screen ...but I don't know how to connect the system and write the code to perform this...

    and that's what I'm asking...

(I'm at work now but I will upload pictures when I get back from work and maybe it will be more clearer so You could answer me exactly what I'm asking)
