Arduino uno Tempature fan control

Hello i am fairly new at programing with a arduino and my first project was going to be controlling a 12 volt DC fan depending on what temperature it is. i am using a tmp36 to sense the temperature. i have a couple transistors and a relay that i tried using and i couldn't seem to get it to work. anyone have any suggestions? (if you think i need to buy anything just tell me.)

    Hi Ben,

Here is a simple transistor circuit that should be able to drive your fan...

If you list the part numbers you have I can modify the circuit to use them...

my transistor part number is P2N2222AG

    temp. sensor is tmp36

    the relay is JZC-11F

i see you are using a diode in this circuit i have one that is 1N4148

    thanks!

    Hi Ben,

    This circuit uses your components...

The resistor is needed to limit the current from the UNO output.

The output of the TMP36 simply connects to an analog input of the UNO.
