Hello guys I'm a newbie I just want to know what's the difference b/w Raspberry pi and Arduino? thanks guys
Raspberry PI is a microprocessor based Linux single board computer with built in Ethernet, USB, HDMI Video, Audio, SD Card reader etc. It is a great place to start if your on a budget and want to learn about programming in various languages and have a dip into some level of controlling LEDs, Relays and other devices. It is great to create a Master Controller, a music player, a XBC / Home media center system etc
An Arduino is an eco system of quite a range of different micro-controller boards, that started with ATMEL 8 Bit chips but has now extended to quite a range of devices including very powerful ARM Cortex microcontrollers, it would be remiss of me not to also mention the Texas Instruments LAUNCH PAD series of boards too as these are also great microcontroller boards with equally good capabilities as the Arduino boards. It depends on if you like green or Red
A microprocessor as found in the RPI s not so good at industrial control, driving Stepper motors, NEO Pixel LED lights or other devices that require critical timing. A Microcontroller is much better for those tasks and often will be used as a slave to a Raspberry PI or similar LINUX based machine to allow the PI to be the Brains and the Arduino / Launch pad to be the brawn
If you want to start out leaning how to control things like lights, relays, motors etc. then start with the launch pad or an Arduino, If your more interested in the software side of things and want some flexibility in what language you use, want a full GUI based environment right one the device, go with the PI. Either way I think ultimately you will end up with both the PI and a microcontroller

A very succinct differentiation between the Pi and the Arduino.
Thanks Peter - probably the best I've read!
