control the Lights Module on an 2005 BMW

Hello.

I need necessary hardware to control the Light Module on an 2006 BMW, especially to activate the brake lights.

Can this be done by this arduino build?

  • Although this is technically quite straightforward my major concern is that this could be (and probably is) illegal.

    I am not referring to the DMCA or whatever any particular country calls it but specifically illegal to use on a road from a safety standpoint.

     

    The CAN bus is a very interesting subject and if you happen to live in a flexible country with regard to road laws then I'd love to see how your project goes.
