Can Arduino Uno R3 board remove chip on the board?

thesea

Hello

First off, got my Elegoo Uno board as Christmas gift, so this is all new to me.

Here is my problem, I built an motor project and the chip has been programmed. Can I remove the chip from the Uno board?

Or can I placing a new chip onto the Uno board?

Best regards.

If your board looks like this with the big black ATMega328P in a DIP package, then the chip can be removed: If it looks like this (Arduino Uno R3 SMD) with a small package, it is surface mount and soldered…

Why is it that you want to replace the chip? If you just want to do a different project, the part can be reprogrammed using a new sketch. And you can always revert back to the motor project as long as…

This is referenced in the link I provided and shows more detail as to how to build an Arduino on a Breadboard. https://www.arduino.cc/en/Main/Standalone

If you have the Elegoo Uno R3 with the ATmeag328P DIP chip then you could do something like this.

    https://www.arduino.cc/en/Tutorial/ArduinoToBreadboard

NOTE: This shows an Arduino branded board and chip so it should work with the Elegoo but there is no guarantee.

As is shown, you could use another UNO to program the chip if needed.

    Cheers,

    Jon
