Missing I2C Address of U56 (8T49N241) for AUBoard-15P

Aenerine

Hello,
The Hardware Guide 1.3 lists the I2C configuration address of secondary (U57) Clock generator as follows:
"This I2C bus contains the clock generator U57 at I2C address 0x7C and a clock generator configuration EEPROM U58 at I2C address 0x50".

It doesnt however specify the I2C addressing mode of the U56 (First Clock Source)..
Due to missing schematics of the board, its impossible to lookup manually the (S_A0 / S_A1) pins of the 8T49N241 and/or the the startup content of the EEPROM.
Please clarify the addressing schemes and initial configuration for this device.
Thank you

    Hello,

looking at the AUBoard-15P Development Kit Hardware User Guide Version 1.3, U56 is a 8T49N241-998NLGI.

Regarding the Renesas 8T49N241 datasheet (march 2019), p17, the generic dash code (-998 in this case) gives the 1111100b default I2C address.

I never used a chip like this one, but I hope this helps.

    Best regards

    Olivier

I forgot to mention that S_A1 & SA_0 are the 2 lsb bits of 1111100b address.

There is a reference design on programming the clock generator hosted on the AUBoard-15P website. There is a reference design tab that includes this design/write up.
