Availability of ZedBoards

So the 26 week lead time @ avnet isn't up to date? Good news!

The Avnet system should be displaying 9 weeks (end of July). You can ignore the 26.

How much does a Zedboard cost?

I see that Avnet is selling Zedboards for $395 each, while Digilent offers them priced for academics at $299:

To purchase the Zedboard for the reduced academic price, a .edu email address will be needed.

I just ordered from Trenz Electronic GmbH. There it was 317.88 EUR no VAT and 378.28 EUR with VAT.

So for me it cost 424.20 EUR with delivery to Finland, Oulu.

Now just to have wait. They marked it is available from August. My holiday is ending after wk32. I hoped that I can get it before my holiday is over.

any update on shipping? will the start of shipping reflect a staggering by order date? what's the volume of orders? will production handle the back log? (i had to cancel and reorder to get my order to show up on the avnet express website.)

being a johns hopkins alumnus, i am provided with an .edu alias email, which purpose is to allow change to other isp seamlessly.
BUT, i am not an academic right now and i would not use it to gt a discount.

Let me rephrase that:  Digilent provides the board at a discounted cost for educational purposes.  If you are using it to teach or to learn, then the Digilent board is for you (provided you have a .edu address).  If you are purchasing the board as a means to develop a product, then it is asked that you purchase the Avnet board.

To clarify, simply having a .edu email address is not enough.  If purchasing from Digilent or one of Digilent's distributors, you are required to complete a questionnaire that indicates you are a student or employee at a qualifying academic institution and will use the board for academic purposes such as class work or research.
