being a johns hopkins alumnus, i am provided with an .edu alias email, which purpose is to allow change to other isp seamlessly. BUT, i am not an academic right now and i would not use it to gt a discount.
Let me rephrase that: Digilent provides the board at a discounted cost for educational purposes. If you are using it to teach or to learn, then the Digilent board is for you (provided you have a .edu address). If you are purchasing the board as a means to develop a product, then it is asked that you purchase the Avnet board.
