Hi,
I received my ZedBoard kit today. Where is the voucher for chip scope? Is the code on one of the papers that came with the board or is it on the DVD itself?
Thank you for your help.

I have the same question. There is no voucher in the box and i think its not in dvd as well.
Passing this on to the Avnet folks. I will post back ass soon as I know.
Hi Tim,
Any update on the ChipScope Voucher and how I can get it?
Thank you,
Thad
We have verified an issue that left out the ChipScope license voucher. We apologize for this problem. We are working on how to get these vouchers to those that have already received kits. You should still be able to generate your WebPACK license from the Xilinx website, which will give you access to the full Zynq development tools for the 7020 device. You can also generate a 30-day temp license for ChipScope in the meantime. Again, I apologize for the issue, and I'll respond back as I learn how we will correct this for those affected.

If you were one of those that received the first shipped kits without the included license vouchers --
For Avnet, non-academic customers, please contact david.zaffiro@avnet.com. He will provide you with a redeemable voucher number via email.
For Digilent, academic customers, please contact support@digilentinc.com
We were able to intercept the next group of boards, and those will have vouchers included, but it will be outside the ZedBoard box (within the outer box). After that, the voucher will be included inside the ZedBoard box itself.
Sorry again for the inconvenience.
Bryan
i have used both the voucher in my box and obtained from david zaffiro to obtain license files. neither allow me to open PlanAhead from ISE 14.2 webpack.
Looking at the .lic files, they differ from the free webpack in that they are node-locked. BUT also in the COMPONENTS= section
free webpack license:
PACKAGE Web_Package xilinxd 2013.08 DF5D8E1A1BDE COMPONENTS="PlanAhead WebPACK XC7Z010 XC7Z020 XC7Z030
V_WebPACK xps_tdp" OPTIONS=SUITE
vouchers generated license:
PACKAGE ZEDWEBPACK_XC7Z020 xilinxd 2013.09 B8FF49B58E1C
COMPONENTS="null XC7Z020 null null null" OPTIONS=SUITE
my expired 30 day eval license:
PACKAGE System_Edition xilinxd 2013.07 E56896F41D78 COMPONENTS="SDK
ChipScopePro_SIOTK ChipscopePro ISE ISIM PlanAhead SysGen XPS
Simulation Implementation Analyzer HLS Synthesis"
OPTIONS=SUITE
i can't get another eval can i? so i am left with the free webpack, which does not have XPS.
the voucher generated license only have the XC7Z020.
or is there some other reason planahead does not find a license from the voucher generated .lic.
i have emailed david for help.
James,
This license is not getting generated correctly. I have just sent an urgent email to Xilinx to figure out how to correct this.
The free WebPACK does include XPS for Zynq 7010, 7020, 7030. However, there have been some installation issues. The work-around in 14.1 is documented here http://www.zedboard.org/content/ise-141-webpack-install-work-arounds
Although I have not tried WebPACK 14.2 and the Xilinx AR is not updated to reflect 14.2, this may still be a problem in 14.2. Try installing the Logic Edition, but then license it with your free WebPack license. You may still get an XPS license error, but simply close it, and then things should work. You will not be able to use ChipScope until we get the ZedBoard license issue corrected. I will also look into the 14.2 install issues.

thanks for the quick response, Bryan.
i will proceed as instructed and be patient for a license remedy.
i understand that this only effects zedboard users without existing paid license, and appreciate your consideration of this matter.

I just received my voucher from Digilent's support staff and I activate it on the Xilinx web site. Once I activate it, it said the license is only valid for one year. So my question is, are we only entitle to the full version of the software for one year or for as long as have the ZedBoard?
Thanks,
Mao
David and Jim from Xilinx got the license generation fixed. so i can implement with Chipscope cores now. And the PlanAhead problem is resolved. PS still reports license error as before, but allows the Zedboard 7Z020 designs to be worked. This was with 1.4 Lgic edition and only the new license in C:.Xilinx.
