Vivado Licence

Not sure if this should go here, but....

Is the Vivado licence that the MMP comes with locked to a particular board (MMP serial number) or locked to a particular device (Z7100) so that I can purchase multiple boards (or even a different development board) and use the one licence? What is the expiration of the licence?

    Hello Craig,

The Vivado license is locked to a device type (i.e. Z7100) and not a particular board or part.

The Vivado license is like most of the Xilinx licenses, you are entitled to updates for 1 year, so getting your license now would get you updates through versions 2016.4 or maybe 2017.1 depending on timing. You can continue to use any of the versions you were entitled to as long as you want. So it is the ability to upgrade to the latest version that 'expires'.
