Hi, I am trying to follow steps in lab four to create a microBlaze system.

but I'm using a zed board instead of a KC705 board, so the pin layout file doesn't work for me....anyone knows a way to work around it?

Lab 4 of this tutorial targets a Kintex-7 device on a KC705 evaluation board. This board has DDR memory connected to the device such that it is available to the MicroBlaze design in the FPGA programmable logic. The ZedBoard uses a Zynq device and the DDR memory on board is only available directly to the ARM PS section of the device.

If you want to implement a MicroBlaze on a ZedBoard you might take a look at these Xilinx forum posts on the subject:

You could also take a look at XAPP1093 http://www.xilinx.com/support/documentation/application_notes/xapp1093-amp-bare-metal-microblaze.pdf , but it targets the ZC702 eval board rather than the ZedBoard and you will need to make adjustments.
